All sterling silver, 14K gold, 14K rose gold and copper designs have a protective coating to prevent tarnishing. There is a one-year warranty on this. Should your design become a little dull from makeup, skin oils, etc., simply gently wash in warm soapy water and dry gently with lint free cloth and the shine will return.
